We believe that Christian formation and education is a life-long journey of faith. Here you will find opportunities to deepen your fellowship with other seekers as well as deepen your own faith; opportunities that are available for the youngest to the oldest person; for those who are just beginning to explore Christianity as well as for those who are life-long Christians.
Classes are held from 9:15am?10:15am Sundays from September through May. There are other special offerings, such as Vacation Bible School, throughout the year. Our nursery is available year round. Unless indicated, all classes can be found on the lower level. Contact Children's Ministry Director Ayn Colsh at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Children are always welcome in our worship service; however, some parents prefer to take advantage of the nursery. A nursery is provided for our service for infants and children up to age five. Upon check-in, nursery parents are given noiseless pagers in case their children require their attention. Our staff are professional day care workers. Each Sunday, worship bulletins created especially for children that relate to the Bible readings for the day are available. Soft toys and crayons are also available in the toy box by the prayer lectern at the back of the church. Nurseries are also made available for mid-week offerings and special events, as needed.
Our preschool children gather in a room prepared especially for their interests and age level. In this class they explore stories of faith using colorful illustrations and hands-on activities. The curriculum is designed to bridge between the nursery and our BLAST program. Our teachers in the Preschool room provide a nurturing environment where children have opportunities to share, grow, and make friends while experiencing God's love and teachings. Join us each Sunday at 9:15 on the lower level.
Elementary agged children participate in BLAST, which stands for Bible Learning Adventure Stations. Using the model of rotational ministry, we offer a variety of ways for children to experience God's love and teachings through hands-on and engaging activities such as art, music, drama, science, technology, games, and cooking. We've also used such popular themes as Harry Potter, the Narnia series and Star Wars to teach about Jesus.
Join us each Sunday at 9:15 on the lower level for an explosion of faith in BLAST! Questions? Contact children's Ministry Director Ayn Colsh at email@example.com.
Our youth group is for middle and high school students. All youth are on a journey to adulthood. At Holy Comforter we are part of that journey which is called J2A for Journey to Adulthood. This is a six year program that walks with our youth during one of the most exciting, yet challenging, times of life. Our goal is to help them grow, as Jesus did: And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and humanity. (Luke 2:52)
Rite 13 is for Middle School and meets Sundays 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and shares a dinner with the High School group from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
High School meets Sundays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm and shares a dinner with the Middle School group from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
Christian Formation is not just for children and youth, but for all of us. As Adults living in an increasingly complex and changing world, we need opportunities to come together to learn how to grow more into the likeness of Jesus as well as for fellowship and support. We have several opportunities to do just that. Questions? Contact The Rev. Dr. Cynthia Taylor at firstname.lastname@example.org.

So far this year we have spent time in the Book of Common Prayer, had a class on Rachel Held Evan's book Inspired and are now digging deep into Jon Meachum's The Soul of America: The Battle for our Better Angels, which looks at other times of difficulty in our nation's history and how hope won the day.
Parent-Led Class: This is a class by parents for parents using Scripture and other resources on how to be the best parents we can be in trying times. The current study uses Love and Logic for Parenting.
Facilitators: Cheryl Spessert, Mallory Halterman and others
Coffee, Fellowship and the Sunday paper: For those who just like to hang out with a cup of coffee and the Sunday paper in the back of the Parish Hall, upper level.
